Usage of spot welding machine

1. Preparation work

Firstly, it is necessary to place the spot welding machine on a sturdy and stable workbench, and ensure that the power cord is properly connected. Next, we need to adjust the parameters of the spot welding machine according to the thickness and hardness of the metal material to be welded, such as welding time and welding electric current.

2. Clean the metal surface

Before using a spot welding machine, ensure that the metal surface is clean and free of impurities such as dust and oil stains. You can use cleaning agents or clean the metal surface with a wire brush to improve welding quality.

3. Determine the welding position and number of welding points

Determine the welding position and number of welding points based on the components to be welded and their connection methods. Under normal circumstances, the welding points should be evenly distributed on the contact surface of the two welding materials.

4. Positioning and clamping of workpieces

Place the components to be welded on the workbench and use fixtures or manual clamping to ensure that they do not move during the welding process.

5. Set welding parameters

Adjust the parameters on the spot welding machine, such as welding time and welding current, based on the thickness and hardness of the welding material. Normally, the welding time is controlled between a few hundred milliseconds and a few seconds, and the welding current is controlled between several thousand amperes and tens of thousands of amperes.

6. Perform welding

Pressing the welding button on the spot welding machine will weld according to the set parameters. During the welding process, the spot welding machine applies high-frequency current to the welding material through two electrodes, causing it to generate high temperature at the contact point, thereby melting the metal and forming a welding point. Normally, the welding time is controlled between a few hundred milliseconds and a few seconds.

7. Check the welding quality

After welding is completed, it is necessary to check the welding quality. It can be determined whether the welding quality meets the requirements by visually inspecting whether the welding points are full, whether the welding is uniform, and whether the welding marks are clear.

8. Protective measures

During the use of spot welding machines, attention should be paid to protecting one's own safety. Firstly, safety helmets, protective goggles, and work gloves should be worn to avoid injury from high temperatures, sparks, and splashes. In addition, it is necessary to ensure that the surrounding work environment is clean and tidy, avoiding the accumulation of debris and flammable materials.
